Mountain Climbing

TULLY MOUNTAIN is directly across the bay from Ross Point Cottage as you can see in the Photo Gallery. Tully mountain is well suited to beginner climbers but the views from the summit will amaze even the experienced climber. Best climbed from the Letterfrack/Derryinver side of the mountain.

DIAMOND HILL is also across the bay from the cottage if your standing at the front door (see Photo Gallery). This is a more challenging climb and currently a path is being constructed to make it more accessible. Visit the Connemara National Park to access the hill.

DOUGHROUAGH MOUNTAIN If visiting Kylemore Abbey you have the opportunity to climb the mountain. It is a steep walk and if your going to brave it to the top you will pass the holy statue above the abbey.

TWELVE BENS Most of the Twelve Bens Mountain range can be seen from the cottage. If your in to climbing in a big way, then set yourself the target of reaching the top of them all.
